2015 De Other Side of the World is an adventurous programme accompanied by strong stories. Veejays Ilse, Karoline and Niko explore the wide world. They respectively travel through Equador, Uganda and Vietnam searching for young people who are working in order to create a better world.

3 veejays, 3 countries, 3 continents
The televisionprogramma starts from som typical cliches about developing countries. Those cliches are ubiquitous in the mind of youngsters. Our three veejays travel to some of the developing countries. Their journey is adventurous, instructive and sobering. In Equador, Vietnam and Uganda, Ilse, Karoline and Niko are looking for young people of the same age who dare to take initiative. Our three veejays let themselves immerse in the local cultures. They discover how these young people handle in their own and original way with problems in their country.

Millennium Development Goals
In each of the three countries that are visited, several themes are being handled. Accompanied with only a pair of walking boots and a backpack, Ilse, Niko and Karoline leave together with local youngsters who risk to deviate from their stereotyped path. Young people who dare to take matters in their own hands, not only for themselves, but also for others.

Equador
Next to fair trade, gender issues are going to be very important in Equador.
The country knwos a macho culture. Ilse gets to know some young men who are homosexual. Those men organize concerts, in which they take out their skirts out of the closet and their make-up out of their purse.

Uganda
In Uganda Karoline gets drinking water offered which isn't always that clear.

Vietnam
In Vietnamd Niko visits a sexshop, but discovers that the only thing that is being sold are contraceptives
